Republic Bank Big Hit ½ Marathon
Entertaining new half marathon ending at home plate of Louisville Slugger Field, with route through and around major Louisville entertainment landmarks, including: KFC YUM! Center Muhammad Ali Center, Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, Churchill Downs, Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, 4th Street Live and more. Music and spirit groups along the route will keep it fresh and exciting! All participants will receive unique race medals and a portion of race proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana. Overall and age group winners will take home custom Louisville Slugger Bats! Grab a friend. Or two!
Republic Bank Big Hit ¼ Marathon
Perfect distance for training if you’re planning to run a Fall marathon. Also ending at home plate of Louisville Slugger Field, the ¼ marathon route will pass all Main Street landmarks and include spirit, music, and specialty groups along the entire course. ¼ Marathon finishers will receive a special medal, tech shirt, and winners will go home with an engraved Louisville Slugger bat! Portion of proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana. Enjoy the race and don’t forget to slide head-first into home plate!
EVENT RULES
All participants must register online or complete and sign a registration form.
For the half-marathon, you must be able to complete the 13.1-mile course in 3.5 hours by keeping an average pace of 16 minutes per mile.
For the half-marathon, you must be at least 13 years of age and a parent or guardian must sign for all participants over 13 but under 18 on race day.
All mail-in entries must be post-marked by October 18, 2013.
On-line registration closes at Midnight, EST, October 24, 2013.
You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenge of a half marathon.
You must show a photo ID to pick up your race number and timing tag. No exceptions.
Race numbers are required to participate - NO EXCEPTIONS!
YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR OWN RACE PACKET AT THE EXPO for the half marathon.
No skateboards, baby joggers, bikes, dogs or inline skates will be allowed on the course.
Registration Confirmation:
No confirmation cards will be mailed out. However, an eConfirmation email will be sent out to all half-marathon participants about 2 weeks prior to the event showing your bib number and other pertinent information. Please print out this email and bring with you to the Health & Fitness Expo. If you do not receive your email, we will have additional forms on site for your convenience, as well as a way for you to look up your bib number.
THE EXPO
The Big Hit ½ Marathon Expo will feature many exhibitors featuring free samples and showcasing the latest trends, designs, and advances in running shoes and apparel. The expo is free and open to the public. The Expo is the Official Packet Pick-Up Headquarters. All race numbers, timing chips, T-shirts, goodie bags for the half marathon must be picked up at the Expo.

Your photo ID is required to pick up your race packet. Location, date and time will be announced soon!
START LINE
The race will start on Witherspoon Street behind Louisville Slugger Field.
The Start Line is within walking distance of over 2,000 hotel rooms in downtown Louisville! There will be plenty of restrooms at Louisville Slugger Field and additional portable toilets outside the park and along the course. Slugger Field will open approximately 6:15 am on race morning.

Republic Bank Big Hit ½ Marathon
Engraved Louisville Slugger bats will be awarded 3 deep in each age group division for the Half Marathon. The top 3 overall male and female finishers will receive special edition custom Louisville Slugger bats!
